Which data we process
- Registration for the training: surname, first name, date of birth, address, telephone, e-mail, mother tongue, possible guiding languages, your website(s) and social media accounts (optional), preferred course language, profession and current activity, skills and training, further qualifications, your experience in leading groups, how you heard about the training, your motivation and your plans for working as a Swiss GeoGuide (regions, type and number of offers, main or secondary occupation, willingness to undertake further training). In addition, your confirmation regarding health and insurance and your consent to this policy. The form does not allow you to upload files or photos.
- Profile photo: during the training we photograph participants for their Swiss GeoGuide profile. We only publish a photo with your consent.
- Visiting the website: the server stores technical details such as IP address, date, time and the page accessed in log files. This is needed for secure operation. Infomaniak keeps these logs only for as long as necessary for this purpose.
No comments, no uploads
The website has no comment function. Visitors cannot upload files. The only personal data we receive through the website comes via the registration form.
What we use the data for
- to review your application and select the participants
- to run the training and stay in touch with you
- to send you the confirmation of your registration by e-mail
- to operate the website securely
We do not sell data or pass it on for advertising. Your application is seen only by the people who decide on admission and organise the course.
Hosting and e-mail
The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Geneva. The website’s e-mails, such as the confirmation of your registration and the notification to us, are sent and received by the association’s mailbox at Hostpoint AG in Rapperswil-Jona. Both process the data on our behalf and store it in data centres in Switzerland.
How long we keep the data
Registrations are deleted automatically 24 months after receipt. If we need data for longer, for example for your certificate, we will inform you.
Cookies
The website sets only one technically necessary cookie: pll_language remembers the language you chose (German, French, Italian or English) for one year. It contains no personal data and is not used for advertising or analysis. You can delete it in your browser at any time.
No analysis, no third-party services
- We do not use any analysis or tracking tools.
- The fonts are on our own server. The website loads nothing from Google or other third-party servers.
- The form protects itself against spam without reCAPTCHA.
Your rights
At any time you can:
- ask what data we hold about you
- have incorrect data corrected
- ask us to delete your data
- object to the processing and withdraw your consent
- receive your data in a common format
To do so, write to the contact address above. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
